I.I.H.T. Champa is the 7th Institute in the country under state sector IIHTs, where central sectors are located at Varanasi, Salem, Guwahati, Jodhpur and Phulia. The other three State Sector Institutes are located at Venkatgiri, Gadag, & Kannur. I.I.H.T., Champa was established in 2006 offering 3 years Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology. Champa is a small town and district, Raipur the capital of Chhattisgarh (180 Kms.).

The intake for this diploma is 30 seats. The Campus of the Institute is spread over in a 43.02-acre area and is 2 km away from CHAMPA. The institute campus has a 3 storied Administrative blocks, a double-storied Workshop block, a Multipurpose Hall cum Auditorium, two separate Hostels for Boys and Girls with 25 rooms, 1 Guesthouse.
